authorized disney artist help?
im an amateur painter, picked up as a hobby, moved up to cel painting, and have become quite efficietnt, almost studio quality. how does one get authorized by the company, such as disney to produce and sell pieces like thomas kinkade, etc. i know its a long shot, but this hobby has become a job for me almost and would like to pursue it further if possible
Just contact the Disney parent company ( http://corporate.disney.go.com/index.html?ppLink=pp_wdig ) and ask about licensing. They will want to see samples of your work because they won't want to grant a license to use their images on poor quality merchandise.
Be prepared to pay a lot of money, up front, for this license. Disney's are among the most costly licenses to obtain. Nickelodeon is another one becoming increasingly popular and expensive. Marvel Comics, Warner Brothers, etc. all cost big bucks to get permission to use their images.
